Hey everyone!! How has your Valentine’s day been going on?
I was working on my new project and I decided to take a break and watch some TV. “The Vow” was aired on HBO and boy did I enjoy watching it. Paige’s wedding vow is something (in my opinion) that must be put into practice by all of us.
Here it is:
Since Valentine’s day is a celebration of love, how about a vow on self love? Here are my two bits (5 actually) on self love:
1. Love blossoms in the
heart mind and therefore to love yourself, you must first care enough to not feel mentally distressed!

Unresolved anger issues? See the shrink!
Self esteem issues? See the shrink!
Being enveloped by feelings of hopelessness and the wish to quit life? Well, you get my drift: See the godamn shrink!! STAT..
2. Love everything that surrounds you and be grateful for it. Express gratitude to all those who care for you. Expressing gratitude makes you love yourself even more
3. Love and honour your health and pledge to take good care of it. As Hippocrates said, “let thy food be thy medicine”, so this year let’s cut back on those heavenly looking plates of junk food that are sure to transport us to body image hell in the blink of an eye!!
4. Respect your beautiful body enough to take the time out everyday to keep it fit and functional. Exercise apart from imparting good health comes with the highly desirable side effect of happiness!!
5. Be the best version of you. This means no comparisons, no hosting a pity party and certainly no self loathing. Accept your shortcomings and make the most of your strengths. This is the first step on your journey to that wonderful destination called self love.
Lastly, another quote from ‘the vow’, “Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back and realise that they were the big things”. So yes, savour every small joy in your life and love yourself!!
